Suspect arrested after stabbing at Madelia trailer

Police say a suspect is behind bars after a man was brutally stabbed at a Madelia trailer home Monday.

Madelia police and Watonwan County deputies responded at 12:45 p.m. to a report of a stabbing at Madelia Mobile Village.

When officers arrived, they discovered an adult man with multiple stab wounds to his arm and chest, some of the injuries severe.  The victim was taken to Madelia Health and later transported to St Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.  His condition was stable, according to police.

Investigators say the victim identified David Reyna as his attacker.  Police say the 69-year-old Reyna fled the scene after the stabbing, but he was located in South Bend Township within three hours of the stabbing.  Multiple agencies coordinated the arrest effort.

Reyna was turned over to Madelia police and is now in custody at the Watonwan County Jail.
