Teen motorcyclist injured in three-vehicle crash involving dump truck

(Mankato) –  A 15-year-old boy operating a motorcycle was injured Thursday morning three-vehicle crash in St. Clair.

The Minnesota State Patrol is not releasing the name of the 15-year-old motorcyclist.  He was transported to Mayo Clinic Mankato, but no details about his condition were available.

The crash happened at 6:38 a.m. when the teen, operating a 2005 Yamaha Motorcycle, was stopped at a stop sign on County Road 15.  A Ford Dump Truck driven by 31-year-old Kevin Richard McDowell was eastbound on Highway 83 when the motorcycle pulled out and struck the dump truck.  The motorcycle was then struck by an eastbound Mercury Sable on Highway 83, driven by 19-year-old Tate Daniel Oftedahl of Pemberton.

McDowell and Oftedahl were not injured in the crash.

There were four passengers in the dump truck: Cole Jerome Allery, and Christopher Thomas Law, both 28 and from Cottage Grove, 20-year-old Natanel Lemus Mata, and 44-year-old Jose Eladio Reyes of Roseville.  All escaped injury.
