Thousands in Minneapolis march for racial justice

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Thousands of protesters dressed in black took to the streets of Minneapolis on Saturday night for an Independence Day protest for racial justice and an end to police brutality.
People gathered in downtown Minneapolis for a rally and march, called The Black 4th by organizers, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported. Protesters held signs with some of George Floyd’s final words: “I can’t breathe.”
Floyd, who was Black and handcuffed, died May 25 in Minneapolis while being arrested. Floyd’s death led to charges against four officers who took part in the arrest and to worldwide protests over police brutality and racial injustice.
