Waseca will consider raising tobacco purchase age

(Waseca, MN) – The Waseca City Council will introduce an ordinance tonight that would raise the age requirement for purchasing tobacco.

The ordinance, known as Tobacco 21, would raise the purchase age from 18 to 21.  After introduction of the ordinance tonight, a public hearing will be set.

St. Peter passed a Tobacco 21 ordinance in May, which went into effect in August.
