Watch: St. Clair woman wins $30K after nailing seemingly impossible hockey shot
(Mankato, MN) – A young woman from St. Clair is $30,000 richer after making what seemed like an impossible shot in a contest at a Mavericks hockey game Friday night.
Between periods, Morgan Ward stood behind the blue line and managed to hit a puck into a tiny net over halfway across the rink, winning the money. It was the first time MSU had ever sponsored such a contest, which Ward entered by texting a promotional code.

Ward told KEYC News 12 that she wanted to hide in the bathroom when she found out she won a chance to try for the money. She didn’t want to be the center of attention, but her boyfriend told her she had nothing to lose with 30 grand on the line.
