Waterville man critically injured in Highway 60 crash

A Waterville man was critically injured in a crash on Highway 60 west of Waterville Tuesday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened just before 11 a.m. when an eastbound cargo van swerved to avoid a collision, lost control, and rolled.

David Dean Volkman, 53, was driving the van.  He was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester will life-threatening injuries.

Volkman was the sole occupant of the vehicle.  He was wearing his seat belt, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
