Watonwan County reports COVID death

Watonwan County has reported a COVID-19 death, the 19th of the pandemic in the county, according to data released Thursday by the Minnesota Department of Health.

The death involved a person in their early 60’s, according to MDH’s daily update.  It was one of the 32 deaths reported Thursday, a number that also included a person in their early 20’s from Carlton County. Minnesota’s death toll is now at 9,125.

A capacity report shows 1,381 coronavirus patients are currently hospitalized, including 333 in the intensive care unit.

MDH logged another 4,827 new infections Thursday, which includes cases in the following counties in Southern Minnesota:

Jackson – 4 probable

Nobles – 10 (9 probable)
