Watonwan County will gather to remember double murder victims, others at vigil against domestic violence

(St. James, MN) – October is domestic violence awareness month, and Watonwan County will gather in remembrance of those who died at the hand of homicidal domestic violence.

The Committee Against Domestic Abuse (CADA) is hosting a candlelight vigil honoring the memory of seven Watonwan County victims who died as a result of domestic abuse.

Two of the victims, Joyce Engelbrecht and her daughter, Rachel Schulz Linder were killed by Engelbrecht’s husband, Scott Engelbrecht in June.  Scott Engelbrecht was recently indicted by a grand jury on first degree murder charges.

The vigil is scheduled for Tuesday, October 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the gazebo on Dike Road on St. James Lake.  A microphone will be available and open to anyone who wishes to speak.
