Westphal stepping down from AD position

Bethany Lutheran College Director of Athletics Don Westphal will step down from his current role, the college announced Friday.

Westphal will join the college’s Advancement Department as the Director of the Bethany Fund and Annual Giving on July 1.

Westphal is a 29-year staff member of the college, leading the Vikings for nine years.  He previously served as the College’s Director of Admissions.

During Westphal’s tenure as the head of the athletic department, the Vikings have been part of eight Upper Midwest Athletic Conference championships, nine UMAC tournament championships, and nine NCAA tournament appearances.
