Winthrop freight rail project receives MnDOT grant

Heartland Corn Products in Winthrop is one of eight freight rail projects that will receive funding from the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The Winthrop project was awarded $1 million to expand and improve the efficiency of a railyard. 

A total of $6.5 million in grants were provided through the Minnesota Rail Service Improvement program with funding approved during the 2021 legislative special session.
