Woman dies after driving into construction hole near Montgomery

(Mankato, MN) – A woman has died after driving into a construction hole south of Montgomery.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Michelle Dawn Burwell, 51, of Northfield, was killed on Highway 99 when she drove into a construction zone and drove into a hole in the road.

The crash happened around 7:42 a.m. Saturday morning.

Burrel wasn’t wearing a safety belt and alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to the state patrol.
