Woodbury felon facing weapons charges for alleged Mankato assualt

(Mankato) – A Woodbury man is in custody following an alleged assault at a Mankato apartment.

Three males and a female emerged from a second story apartment when police responded to a weapons complaint.  Officers discovered a fourth male attempting to escape out of a second floor window, but he abandoned his efforts.

Through speaking to various witnesses at the scene, police determined that 20-year-old Emmanuel Makarios Willies had allegedly pointed a loaded semi-automatic handgun at another male and made threats during a domestic altercation.

Police later recovered a 9mm handgun from the scene. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Willies faces charges of being a felon in possession of a handgun and ammunition, and 2nd degree assault.  Other 2nd degree charges are possibly pending.
