(North Mankato, MN) – The Anthony Ford Pond Hockey Tournament kicks off today in North Mankato.

The pond classic,  created in the spirit of a little boy who dreamed of playing hockey, is now in its 11th year.  Anthony Ford was just 9-years-old when he succumbed to cancer following an 18-month fight.

In 2007, the Anthony Ford committee was founded to establish a fund to find a cure for childhood leukemia, and to help other children with a dream of playing hockey to become the next great play.

The Anthony Ford annual pond classic is at Spring Lake Park in North Mankato Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  For more information, brackets, and schedules visit the tournament website.
