Fairmont awarded state grant for water infrastructure project
(St. Paul, MN) – The city of Fairmont will receive a state grant to cover infrastructure costs at a new industrial park.
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development has awarded the city $434,075 through DEED’s Greater Minnesota Business Development Public Infrastructure Grant Program.
The funds will assist with water and sewer lines and a street in a new 37-acre industrial park. Cemstone, which is adjacent to the park, will also benefit. The company will expand its staff of 11 with 17 new jobs.
The BDPI grant program supports counties outside the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Under the program, DEED awards 50 percent of eligible capital costs for the qualifying public infrastructure projects.
