MnDOT hosting open houses for Highway 22 Mankato to St Peter project

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is hosting two more public open houses for the Highway 22 Mankato to St Peter project.

The open houses will be Wednesday, December 6 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at MnDOT headquarters at 2151 Bassett Drive, and on Tuesday, December 12 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Kasota Community Center.

No formal presentation is planned, and attendees are welcome to arrive at any time. MnDOT staff will be available to provide more information about the project, which begins in July 2024, when few impacts to traffic are expected.  Primary construction will take place in 2025 and 2026 with a detour for Highway 22 traffic.

MnDOT will reconstruct Highway 22 from south of Blue Earth Co Rd 57 in Mankato to just south of the Minnesota River bridge in St. Peter.  Turn lanes will be added throughout and intersections will be improved, including a continuous “T” at Co Rd 57, intersection realignment at Blue Earth Co Rd 2, and a roundabout at Le Sueur Co Rd 21.
