Stillwater law firm to take on City Attorney role for Mankato

A Stillwater law firm will handle municipal and prosecution matters for Mankato.

It’s a change for the city, which has been contracting with the Blue Earth County Attorney’s office for those services since 2016.

The Mankato City Council authorized Monday night that a five-year contract with Eckberg Lammers is finalized. The firm will get $260,000 for the first year of services, which will increase to nearly $320,000 by the fifth year.

The firm will draft city ordinances and regulations, and will become the city’s legal advisor.
