Update: Highway 93 closed; Highway 99 at St. Peter reopens for now

(Mankato, MN) – The Minnesota Department of Transportation says Highway 93 near Henderson will remain closed, but Highway 99 at St. Peter has reopened.

MnDOT closed Highway 93 between Highway 169 and Henderson on Sunday morning due to flooding from the Rush River.  Motorists are advised to use Highway 19 into Henderson as an alternate route.

Highway 99 at the Minnesota River Bridge in St. Peter is open again after closing Sunday night because of flooding from the Minnesota River.  MnDOT says forecasted river levels could result in another closure later this week.

MnDOT crews will continue to closely monitor river levels.

When a road is closed, it is illegal to travel in that area.  Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail, and could be responsible for expenses if they require rescue on a closed road.
