2 juveniles arrested after robbery reports
Two juveniles were arrested over the weekend after Mankato police received three separate robbery reports.
The first report came at about 11:45 a.m. Saturday from the Mankato Walmart.
Less than two hours later, at 1:07 p.m., police received a second report of a robbery, this time at the River Hills Mall. Police say the suspects’ description in that robbery matched the first.
A third robbery was reported about an hour later, again at Walmart.
Police obtained more information following the third robbery and arrested two suspects shortly thereafter.
A 16-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy were detained and are currently in custody at the Carver County Juvenile Detention Center. A police spokesman said the juveniles face charges of 1st-degree robbery, simple robbery, 5th-degree assault, and damage to property.
Police say no weapon was used, and the juveniles were taking cell phones from people.
