Blue Earth County hosting County Rd 5/3rd Ave Open House

Blue Earth County is looking for public feedback on the future of County Rd 5 – also Third Ave.

An open house will be held on Thursday, March 16 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the 49ers Hall in Mankato to obtain public feedback about the future of Co Rd 5.

The 4.8-mile corridor travels through variable landscapes, from urban residential to rural or semi-rural industrial, rural residential, and agricultural.

The Mankato/North Mankato Area Planning Organization is leading a collaborative effort to develop a corridor study to establish a future vision for the road.  The primary goal of the study is to identify deficiencies and evaluate alternatives for the corridor that improve safety and freight movement, incorporate bicycle and pedestrian needs, and manages access and congestion.

The public will learn more about the study at the open house and can provide feedback on draft roadway alternatives.  Those who can’t attend can learn more at the project website and take an online survey.
