Charges: Man violating restraining order found hiding under Christmas tree

A man with a harassment restraining order against him was allegedly found outside the victim’s home hiding under a Christmas tree.

Jonathan Daniel Williams, 37, of Eagle Lake, was charged Monday with violating a harassment restraining order, a felony.

A criminal complaint says officers were called the night of March 31 to a Mankato home, where the victim told police that she had heard Williams outside, and believed he was around the corner of the house.  When police walked around the home, they found Williams lying on the ground with a Christmas tree on top of him, according to the complaint.

Police say Williams had a Go Pro camera and night vision goggles in his possession.

Williams has two prior convictions for qualified domestic violence-related offenses, according to the complaint.
