Clean up underway in Madelia after train vs semi wreck

Clean-up is underway in Madelia after a train vs semi accident.

Madelia police say the train was cleared out of the area, but crews remained on-site at Center and 4th streets to dismantle and clear the semi from the area. The Madelia Messenger reports that the incident occurred at about 6:30 a.m.

Police say the road will be closed for “some time.” They are asking residents to use Benzel Ave to access the trailer court or businesses on the north side of the tracks.
