COVID-19: Deaths reported in 4 local counties Friday

COVID-19 deaths were reported in four local counties in Friday’s daily update from the Minnesota Department of Health.
The local fatalities involved the death of a resident in their late 80’s in each Blue Earth and Brown counties. In Cottonwood County, a person in their early 90’s died of the virus. Le Sueur County reported two deaths, both involving residents in their 80’s.
There were 62 total deaths reported Friday, which brings Minnesota’s death toll to 9,616.
State health officials also reported 5,685 new coronavirus infections in Friday’s daily update.
