COVID Monday: Deaths in multiple southern Minnesota counties

COVID-19 deaths were reported Monday in a number of southern Minnesota counties, according to a daily update from the Minnesota Department of Health.

MDH logged 25 new virus-related deaths Monday, which included fatalities in Cottonwood, Faribault, Martin, McLeod, Nicollet, and Renville counties.   The ages of the victims by county:

Cottonwood – Late 60’s
Faribault – Late 80’s
Martin – Early 80’s
McLeod – Early 80’s
Nicollet – Late 70’s
Renville – Late 80’s

Twenty-one of the deaths reported Monday happened this month; the other seven deaths were from September.  Minnesota’s death toll now stands at 8,320.

The state saw another 3,223 confirmed infections Monday, according to the daily update.  That includes 32 new cases in Blue Earth County; 27 in Nicollet County.
