Don’t fall for this one, y’all! Brown County Sheriff warns of latest phone scam

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office has received reports that multiple residents received a message from someone claiming to be Chief Deputy Jeremy Reed and requesting a return call.

A press release says the caller had a southern accent and the number used was not associated with Reed or Brown County.  The calls are scams, says Sheriff Jason Seidl.

The sheriff’s office is reminding the public that law enforcement will never ask for their banking information, social security number, or other personal information over the phone.
