(Mankato, MN) – Dentists around the state will offer free dental care to children in need as over 1,200 dental professionals volunteer their services.

Give Kids a Smile, from the Minnesota Dental Association, will provide free dental exams, fillings, and sealants to children 18 years and younger on Friday, February 1 and Saturday, February 2.    Services may vary from clinic to clinic.

Locally, Dr. Jim Connors offers his dental expertise volunteering at Minnesota State University, Mankato at the dental hygiene school.  Due to the weekend schedule of the state-wide campaign, the dental program will participate in Give Kids a Smile on Thursday, January 31 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, February 1, 8 a.m. to Noon.

Minnesota dentists have provided free care to more than 70,000 children and donated more than $19 million in services as the program enters its 16th year.  The general public can support the program by texting “Simile25” to 20222 to make a donation of $25
