Greater Mankato Growth endorses 2023 bond referendum

Greater Mankato Growth has endorsed the Mankato Area Public Schools’ 2023 bond referendum.

The bond will ask voters to approve $105 million for early learning, security, and upgrades.  If that question passes, voters will also be asked to approve $15 million to update sports facilities at Mankato East and West High Schools.

“The economic growth and vitality of our members and the regional marketplace relies on strong public schools,” said Jessica Beyer, President and CEO of Greater Mankato Growth, Inc.

“The referendum on November 7th will provide the necessary resources for our children to have safe, secure, and quality education facilities. These future-focused facilities will support our community’s efforts to be a talent hub – recruiting, retaining, and attracting the workforce talent necessary for the future success of our members or our region.”

The Greater Mankato Growth Advocacy Committee, comprised of a variety of private businesses and public and non-profit organizations, reviewed the proposal and opted to support the referendum.  The Board of Directors then unanimously voted to support both questions for the November 7 referendum vote.
