Lake Crystal childcare center gets state grant

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development has awarded about $2.4 million in grants to 14 childcare providers, including a local daycare.

Little Lakers Child Care Center in Lake Crystal will receive $150,000 from the state.  The childcare center opened in October.

The grants are intended to increase the supply of providers and add 2,300 new childcare slots in order to support regional development.  A majority of the funding went to Greater Minnesota, according to DEED.

DEED prioritized communities that have a documented shortage of child care providers
