Mankato man accused of sexually assaulting vulnerable adult

A Mankato man is accused of sexually assaulting a vulnerable adult.

Albert Brown Lurks, Jr, 54, was charged last week with three felony counts of criminal sexual conduct in Blue Earth County.

A criminal complaint says Lurks came to the victim’s apartment in July and told her to come upstairs to his unit.  Lurks allegedly offered the victim marijuana and then tried to force her to perform a sex act.  The victim refused several times, according to the complaint.

Lurks allegedly removed the victim’s clothing and tried to rape her, then sexually assaulted her.  The victim said she pretended to have an asthma attack so Lurks would stop.

The complaint says Lurks also came to the victim’s apartment several days before the alleged assault, fondled her, and tried to kiss her.

The victim, who is developmentally disabled, told a mandated reporter about the incidents.

Brown has been summoned to appear in court.
