Mankato Public Safety responds to apartment fire

Mankato Public Safety responded to a fire at an apartment complex at 504 James Avenue Tuesday afternoon. 

Crews responded to a fire in an apartment on the second floor at 1:23 p.m.  The fire was extinguished, which prevented damage to any other apartments. 

There were no injuries, but two residents were displaced by the fire.

Damages are estimated at $35,000. 

The fire was caused by unattended cooking.
