Mankato woman pulled gun on couple, say charges
Ashley Nelson, Blue Earth County Jail

A Mankato woman is accused of pulling a loaded gun on a couple and threatening to shoot them.

Ashley Renee Nelson, 29, was charged Monday in Blue Earth County Court with felony counts of 2nd-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and threats of violence.

According to a criminal complaint, Blue Earth County deputies were dispatched Friday morning to a rural property for a report that Nelson was trying to shoot a woman and her husband.

The complaint says the husband was cleaning the yard when Nelson appeared and accused him of prostituting his wife.  The man’s wife said she heard Nelson threaten to kill her husband.

The victim told police Nelson pulled the gun and cocked it.  Police say the 9mm pistol was loaded.  The victim said he was able to get the gun away from Nelson, who allegedly pointed the weapon at his head and kneed him in the groin.

The victim’s wife was able to get the gun after a struggle between Nelson and the victim, according to the complaint.

Court documents say Nelson admitted to confronting the victim about selling his wife for sex.  Nelson said the victim grabbed her by the arm and screamed at his wife.  She told police she pulled her handgun out because she feared the victim.
