North Mankato man accused of sexually assaulting teen
Jazeil Harris, Blue Earth County Jail

A North Mankato man is accused of sexually assaulting a teen girl.

Jazeil Tavares Martinez Harris, 20, was charged last week with felony 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct in Blue Earth County Court.

According to a criminal complaint, Harris was discovered at 3 a.m. in the 15-year-old victim’s bedroom by her brother, a friend of Harris’s from school who was familiar with the family.

The criminal complaint says the girl’s father woke up to his son screaming at Harris to “get the f**k out” of his sister’s room.  The father told investigators he found Harris at the foot of his daughter’s bed without pants on, trying to quickly dress.

Court documents say the father confronted Harris about the victim’s age and Harris admitted he knew the girl was only 15.

A sexual assault exam was performed and a search warrant was issued for Harris’s DNA.  When police responded to a report of a disturbance in Mankato about a week later,  Harris was at the scene and police became aware of the warrant.  Harris was then arrested on a BB gun violation, a gross misdemeanor.
