North Mankato to allow golf carts on city streets

Get ready to see golf carts on the streets of North Mankato. 

An ordinance approved at last night’s city council meeting will allow road-ready golf carts to cruise the streets after obtaining a city permit. 

Restricted areas will include parks, playgrounds, school grounds, recreational areas, or pedestrian sidewalks and trails. The carts will be able to operate during the spring and fall on designated roadways.

The ordinance passed 4-0.
