Police searching for pursuit suspect with multiple warrants
Law enforcement is searching for a man with multiple arrest warrants who allegedly fled police early Tuesday.
At about 1 a.m., Blue Earth County deputies responded to the western part of the county in search of a red Chrysler 200 that had fled Brown County deputies. The vehicle was located near Lake Crystal roughly 15 minutes later. Police say the driver again refused to stop, which led to another pursuit of tar and gravel roads west of Lake Crystal. The pursuit ended when deputies deployed a tire deflation device, but the suspect fled on foot.
Investigators have identified the suspect as Sean Eric Vanmeveren, 25, of Garvin. Vanmeveren was also potentially involved in the theft of a red GMC Sierra pickup with Minnesota license plate 733 KMU that occurred in the same area overnight.
Police say Vanmeveren has warrants for his arrest in Redwood and neighboring counties. Anyone with information on Vanmeveren’s location should contact 911.
