Remaining COVID funds to be used to help low income Mankato residents

Mankato’s unspent COVID funding from the federal government will be used to help low-income residents.

The remaining $162,000 will be used to help people with utilities and rent-related costs. Federal rules say the funds must be used to assist people who are experiencing temporary economic hardship, and the money must be used by the end of October.

The plan is expected to be approved by the city council Monday night.

More details are available from the Mankato Free Press.
