Suspect in rural Sibley County murder arrested

The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office says a suspect has been arrested in the murder of Dennis Weitzencamp. 

Travis Bauer, 46, of rural Winthrop, is expected to be formally charged soon with 2nd-degree murder. 

Weitzencamp’s body was discovered at a farm site north of Winthrop with “unknown trauma” in September. 

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting in the investigation.
