Update: 2 dead, 2 injured in Highway 14 crash in Redwood County

Two people died and two others were injured in a crash on Highway 14 in Redwood County Wednesday night.

The crash happened at about 8:30 p.m. when a minivan and an SUV collided on Highway 14 at Balsa Av between Walnut Grove and Tracy in Springdale Township.

Maiyang Moua, 55, was driving the minivan, according to a state patrol crash report.  Moua and her passenger, Saibert Moua, 67, both of Tracy, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.  The state patrol says Saibert Moua was not wearing a seat belt.

The SUV driver, Victor V Lee, 48, of Walnut Grove, was transported to a Westbrook hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Lee’s passenger, Kia Xiong, 40, of Walnut Grove, was transported to a hospital in Marshall with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash report says Moua’s minivan was southbound on Balsa Ave and the SUV  was eastbound on Highway 14 when the vehicles collided in the intersection.
